Calculating how much synthetic grass to orderTo calculate the amount of grass you need simply measure the length and the width of the area you wish to cover with synthetic grass. Then multiply the length by the width to give you the area in square metres (m2). Take this number and multiply it by the price of the grass that you wish to order. For example for a garden 8m long by 4m wide the calculation would be 8m x 4m = 32m2 If you wished to lay Verdeturf artificial turf at £15.50 per m2 the price would be 32 x £15.50 = £496.00 For areas with unusual shapes it can be helpful to draw out the area on squared paper to calculate the most economical way to cut the grass to size. If you would like our help to do this please email or call us and we will be happy to help. For measurements in feetIf you are measuring in feet please use the calculator below to convert to metres and calculate the total area: How the grass is cutWe supply our grass in cuts 2m or 4m wide to any length you require. If you have an area wider than 4m we can supply you with joining tape and adhesive to join sections together. It is important to remember that each section must have the pile running in the same direction. This avoids the joined area becoming visible and variations in colour occurring. You can cut your artificial grass to the exact fit you require for your garden using a Stanley or similar sharp knife. Calculating tape and adhesiveIf you choose a sandfilled grass for your garden you will only need adhesive to bond the joins. The weight of the sand will keep the artificial grass lawn in position. We recommend 1 x 310ml cartridge of adhesive for every 3m join. If you are bonding your artificial grass to a solid base we recommend 1 x 310ml cartridge of adhesive for every 5m of edging. Calculating sand infill for artificial grassSand filled artificial turf requires dry silica or kiln dried sand as an infill. This is calculated per metre squared. Silica sand is available at most DIY shops and local builders merchants. To calculate the sand you require multiply the recommended infill quantity by the total metres squared. Silica sand generally comes in 25kg bags. To calculate how many bags you require divide the total sand required by 25 For example for a garden to be laid with 5m x 6m = 30m2 of Verdeturf artificial turf the calculation would be Total area 30m2 Infill required per metre squared 15kg Total sand required = 30 x 15 = 450kg Total 25kg bags required 450 / 25 = 18 bags Sand infill grasses
